COMMUNITY GROUPS INVITED TO TAKE PART IN NEW FUNDING PROCESS
Olds Institute introduces an inclusive process for community groups seeking funding.
(OLDS, Alberta – October 4, 2016) After fifteen years of successful social and economic development in the region, the Olds Institute is implementing a new process to ensure that they are responsive to community needs. The Initiative Support Request or ISR, recently announced by the Olds Institute, is able to support initiatives that align with this non-profit organization’s objectives and ensures a fair and equitable process which engages volunteers from all corners of the community.
The Initiative Support Request process enables all community organizations, committees and individuals to create community development project proposals using a consistent template. This process enables sponsors to consider what success looks like, the longevity of the project and what resources are needed to implement these initiatives in the community. The completed Initiative Support Request will then be evaluated and acted on by the Olds Institute Board in a way that enables the Board to manage its resources and make wise decisions on what initiatives it can support, defer to a later date or refer to a partner.
The Olds Institute will be developing the 2017 operations budget during the month of October 2016 and volunteers and initiative sponsors seeking funding and support are asked to submit their Initiative Support Requests no later than noon on Friday October 28. Community groups can contact the Olds Institute at office@oldsinstitute.com for assistance and more information.
The Olds Institute was formed in 2001 by community leaders who realized they could achieve more together than they could apart. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors representing their four founding members and includes members of the community at large.
